GOT bands on the road!

6.4.08

Good day! GOT Records has some spectacular news and informative tidbits. Keep reading!

OFFSIDES (CT) has been added to the Get Outta Town Records roster. The CDEP "It's A Struggle To Communicate" will be released July 22nd. We're extremely excited to get to work with such a great group of people. You can check them out this summer on tour with No Harm Done (Think Fast! Records) on an east coast and Canada tour. Check out their new MP3, "Taking It" and give a listen to this band's pissed off, youth crew attitude.

I will be leaving for South America tomorrow for my last tour with Trample. Anyone that lives in South America, please come out and say hello as I am sure I won't get the opportunity to go down there again for a while. A list of the dates are available on the Trample and Gator Bait myspaces.

Attitude "We All Go Down Together" LPs are running low, so if you want to make sure you get a copy of this one time pressing, please make sure you do so soon. Each order is including an additional poster insert until the LPs are gone.

Hope everyone that is out of school is enjoying themselves. Rent the movie Camp Nowhere and make this happen. Also, invite me to it.

-Charles / Get Outta Town Records

So there has been a ton going on with the label and just me in general. I have been on tour a bunch lately so the updating has been difficult. That being said, here is an update:

Attitude "We All Go Down Together" LPs are available now! The vinyl is finally in after the ridiculous wait and all the problems this release had. Thank you to everyone for being patient. The pre-orders are being mailed out and the album will be "officially" available on Tuesday. Orders can be made through the webstore or RevHQ.com.

Get Outta Town Records will be distributing the Gator Bait "Glory Days" CDEP with Wardog Records from Texas. Gator Bait is comprised of me, Justin Thunder-Lizard, Tom Significant Records and Vince of Now Soldiers/Can't Stand It fame. The CD should be out in a few months, or if you can come check us out on tour, we will have copies.

We should be getting a new look soon, with a friend working on a new website and some aesthetic updates for the label. Thanks to everyone for the continued support. Check back soon for updates and new bands coming to the label.

1.15.08

So I am finally back from tour and time for another update. Thanks for being patient!

This is For You Fest was again amazing this year. If you were there, I hope you checked out Years From Now and In Defence as well as the Get Outta Town Records table to say hello. There are new pictures up for both In Defence and Years From Now in their band sections so be sure to check them out if you missed the show or try and find yourself singing along in the crowd. Years From Now also has a newly self-released EP that you can check out from them.

Endgame "Distracted" CDEP comes out in less than a month! The CD has already been getting incredible reviews from all over the board. I got to play a show with these dudes in Clifton, NJ on January 3rd and it being my first time seeing them live, certainly didn't let me down. What an incredible live band with a good energy and great sound. The CD comes out FEBRUARY 5th, but pre-orders are being taken now through www.REVHQ.com if you want to make sure you get a copy early.

Some new bands, not on my label, to check out would be two bands I recently toured with; No Harm Done (Strike Anywhere style FL punk. I am also in this band) and Offsides (Girl fronted CT youth crew). Both bands are awesome and deserve a good listen.

On the horizon is the Paint It Black "Demo" 7", the Kid Dynamite "Tribute" CD, Attitude "We All Go Down Together" LP, and some new merch for a bunch of bands so be sure to check back so you're in the know!

Thanks again to everyone supporting the label and helping me able to put out records throughout last year. It is appreciated and hopefully everyone is happy with the work coming out of the label. Huge thank you's to the unsung heroes of this label as well: Matt Pickler (webmaster) and Clay Carter (dog enthusiast and helper).

12.9.07

Hey everyone. The holidays are creeping up and I wanted to try and get an update in before things got too hectic.

This is For You Fest is coming up on December 28 - 30. I hope a bunch of people are coming out to this fest. I will have a table and will have some cool merch and some new records. Come say hello if you're coming out. Be sure to check out In Defence and Years From Now playing the fest. Our good friends Wake Up Call will also be there DO NOT MISS THEM.

Endgame "Distracted" CDEP will be officially released on February 5, 2008. I am working out the pre-order information, but there will be something special for those who pre-order. If you have not checked these guys out yet, you're really missing out. Any fans of Turning Point, Strength 691 or Ignite will be impressed with this album. Check out some samples here or on their myspace at www.myspace.com/endgame.

As the year comes to a close let me just say thank you to everyone who has supported this label to make it possible for us to get through another year. Anyone that picked up a release, helped a band, or went to a show. It is beyond appreciated. Oh, and there is new Geeks wallpaper available for download! Thank you.

10.13.07

So another update finally! Every time I want to do an update, a load of new stuff happens and just starts getting in the works so I figure I'll wait till this new thing happens, then more stuff gets piled on. Anyway, here is some upcoming stuff with the label:

The Attitude LP is finally coming together. The jackets are done, the inserts are being shipped, and the vinyl is about to be ordered. Sorry for this release taking so long, but it was a lot of stuff to put together and smooth out in addition to other things going on. Hopefully all will be shipped by the end of the year. Thanks for everyone's patience that pre-ordered this record.

In Defence "Don't Know How To Breakdance" CD is pressed and just about to my door. I should have this record soon and for any fans of some good skate punk and the like, this is a must have.

www.myspace.com/indefence

Endgame "Distracted" CDEP is also just about to ship to the pressing plant. This is a split release with Prehistoric Media, so my copies will be limited, but this is a great EP for fans of Dag Nasty and the early 90's Revelation Records bands. Features members of Between The Wars (Think Fast! Records).

www.myspace.com/endgame

The Steal CD is out now and if you don't have a copy, you're missing one of the best records of the last few years. There have been no lukewarm reviews of this record, it is loved across the board. The CD is streamable at Pastepunk.com and Punknews.org. Don't sleep on this UK import. Get Outta Town Records releases are also now available through a UK distro, Banquet Records. So if you live across the sea, order from them and save yourself on some shipping.

www.myspace.com/thesteal

Coming up soon there are a few things in the works:

Make or Break DVD
V/A "The State of the Scene 2" CD
Birds of a Feather "TBA" CD

Thanks for the continued help from everyone. Anyone having problems with shipping on the site, this problem should be soon corrected. Thanks for your patience as the label undergoes some growing pains.

9.5.07

Wow, this year is totally flying by. I have had a crazy time with fests and new releases lately, so here are some new things happening.

THE STEAL "s/t" CD IS OUT NOW! This is my favorite record of the year, so PLEASE make sure you check them out. They recently finished their two week east coast US tour and had a great time. Right now, through RevHQ.com and Interpunk.com there is a special promotion to get a FREE YEARS FROM NOW "WE'RE GONNA NEED A BIGGER BOAT" CD with the purchase of THE STEAL CD.

I am having a sale in the GET OUTTA TOWN RECORDS STORE with 10% OFF ALL ITEMS. All you need to do is use a special coupon code. Here is the clue to what it is:

"Nobody calls me _______" - Marty McFly

The FINAL MAKE OR BREAK show took place two weekends ago. Thanks to EVERYONE that came out and made the show insane for us. We really had a good time and enjoyed the send off. There will be a small run DVD about us as a band and include footage of the last show. Our good friend Phil aka "DJ PJ" is cutting it as we speak, so be ready for this!

Thanks for the support and help!

-Charles

8.18.07

Wow. Sorry for the lack of updates lately. It has been super busy and trying to do the website has been even more difficult for me. Luckily, my good friend and bass player, Matt Pickler, who was doing the website before, offered to help me today. I am not really sure how much time he can devote to it, so anyone out there that knows about web stuff, I need a webguy. Thanks! To begin this update, a few thank you's are in order. This label is headed up by me, but it takes the help of a lot of people to keep this running like it does. Matt always is cool about the website and making all the things you see up online, so thanks a million to Matt. Clay Carter helps me get all the shipping done and do all the grunt work as far as putting together packages, going to fests, that kind of thing. Huge thanks to Clay. Beyond that, thank you to everyone who reads this website, picks up a release, offers any support, or just is involved with hardcore in any way. It is appreciated more than you know.

Now, to the veggie meat and potatoes. THE STEAL "s/t" is OUT NOW! They are half way through their two week tour of the east coast of the US. If you have a chance to go and see these guys, PLEASE DO NOT MISS IT. They are amazing and super nice dudes. You can check out their album streaming right now at PunkNews.org or visit their myspace for some songs as well. This is my first release from an overseas band so please help me make it a success.

The Kill Your Idols and Geeks test presses went up on eBay a few weeks ago raising almost $250 for charity! The Geeks decided their money should go to cancer research, so $45 was donated to The Gateway For Cancer Research. The guys in Kill Your Idols haven't finalized their charity, but so far, it is looking like it will go to an organization for abused children. Thanks to everyone that bid on the records. The goal with putting these things up on eBay is to get some of hardcore back to a socially conscious movement. It is a little too hype oriented I think and even though doing this label makes me totally broke, there is a great good that can be done with this genre and movement.

The LAST Make or Break show is coming up in one week 8/24. This will probably be the last show we ever play, so if you want to come and see us, please do so. Three of us are doing another band called STRIKE A CHORD. We really are excited about this band and hope that other people will be the same. Demos will be available soon as will some rad looking shirts and stuff. Our first show is opening the End of Summer Jam on 8/24. In my last bit of band news, my old band that Larry from Think Fast! Records and I had a few years ago, Flame Still Burns, is back together, recording a new record and also playing the EOSJ on Friday. Check us out if you can.

Speaking of the End of Summer Jam, GOT will be out there is full force with a ton of new merch items INCLUDING Kill Your Idols embroidered belts and some other neat stuff. These items will go up online when the fest is over with.

Kill Your Idols boxsets are still available. I got some back in the mail from my trip to New York that has a few scratches on the outside artwork, no damge to any records or anything, and they are selling for $20 PPD if anyone wants one.

Coming up still are the Attitude and Risky Business releases. Sorry these have been pushed back so much, this whole Kill Your Idols thing has been a lot of time and money. Thanks so much for everyone's patience. I have some other neat things on the horizon including another State of the Scene compilation and some other things.

Thanks for the continued support from everyone in hardcore as well as my closest friends. It is appreciated.
